When you think of Texas, what comes to mind? Some may say cowboys, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, wide open land, bbq (which is considered a food group here) , rodeos, farms & ranches, hot summers and hospitality? Well, in a lot of ways that's exactly right!
In the words of the 1951 Pulitzer Prize Winner in Poetry, Carl Sandburg, "Texas is a blend of valor and swagger." Now, I would agree with Mr. Sandburg on his quote. Texas is all that and more!
In the world we live in today, we must teach future generations to take great courage in the face of adversity. They must have the swagger, or confidence, to get out there and "take the bull by the horns!" I know, I know, I had to be a little poetic in painting Mr. Sandburg's picture.
I think Texans are built tough. We can be difficult to sway. Some would say stuck in our ways, but when it comes down to it, we will give you the shirt off our backs. I have seen this countless times since moving to East, Texas.
I was born and raised in Texas and I am a proud Texan. I've raised my boys and my daughter to use their manors, to be respectful, and to work hard. Southern hospitality is enjoyed by all that visit our great state, and it is no mystery why people are flocking to Texas.
We live in in the Conroe, Texas area and The United States Census Bureau determined Conroe was one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation. There is no doubt that this is the place to be!
